Debits From a Fraud

My wife discovered a debit of $58.94 yesterday from Homestarsearch, and I found out from BOA that the debit had been occurring since 10/2015, for a total of $884.10! I didn't even know about it, and I've put in a fraud claim with BOA, and will only be able to recover $235.00 through the bank. I'll have to recover the rest from the frauds via civil action. I would label it criminal fraud! If Homsstarsearch won't return my money, I'll file a criminal fraud claim with the FBI. The fraudulent company is supposedly located in Los Angeles, but with computers and the Internet, it could defraud people wherever they have Internet access.

Scam do not use

This is a scam. Make sure you read carefully if you think you need to use this. You will be automatically signed up for 2 account that cost 58 dollars each if you do not call to cancel within the 10 day trial. Did not find anything useful as far a home that was worth doing anything with. You must call and make sure that you get confirmation numbers on all requests to cancel services. I had to go as far as cancelling the card that I used for the trial period to avoid any other unwanted charges. Please proceed with caution using this service. Please do not use.

Don't know if it's a scam or not but if your hesitant about a site, I'd suggest purchasing a prepaid debit card and only keep a few dollars on it just in case your curious enough to sign up.

This company is fraud and a scam they ask you to sign up for a house listing for a dollar and the next day they took $58.94 off my card I've been calling all morning but nobody answer there costumer service office so i had to call my bank and let them get them for fraud

Horrible! Do not use these scam artists. Site is *** poor with wrong adresses and they are trying to charge me $60.00 one week after i paid the $1.95 to view the homes. They will be investigated by my bank.

I got the same happened to me !! they charged me $1.98 on 4/8 without me knowing and them charged me $58.00 on next week .

I dont even know how they got my bank account information .

I will contact my bank on Monday to let them know and I will call this company and disputed these charges ... scam artist dont ever get to this website ...

After American online got me to sign up for their $199.00, looking at my bank statements, that is when they say I sighned up with homestarsearch, thats when money started coming out of my bank also got scamed by a co. calledOIRE-IRealty and they did the same thing

They hide the REAL cost in the terms and conditions

The home page & set up log-in ($1.95) doesn't mention $58.94 a month if not cancelled in 10 days, it's hidden in terms & conditions. They agreed to refund $29.99. Clearly this site makes it's profit from $30 from suckers like me who read the web page, but don't checked the terms carefully because most monthly fee sites make it very clear it is a subscription and what that fee is. This is not the kind of site one expect to be a monthly subscription.

As many of the people on this post have said, you have to be aware if you cancel on the tenth day you are going to be charged even though they expressly say "Simply cancel anytime during the 10 days, and you will not incur any further charges." In actuality they count (and charge) from day one - meaning if you ordered on the 1st you have to cancel by the 10th not the 11th. You really get 9 full days so the whole thing is misleading and designed to hurt the people who can least afford it. In addition, the few homes on the site really are not lease to own. You have to make that deal with the seller. AVOID THIS SITE and save your money.
